Limerick Wall

In Literacy all classes have been looking at a range of poetry styles.
A limerick is a style of poetry usually with a bit of humour attached.
Have a go and post your own on the wall.

Week 3 here we come

It has been a whirlwind start to the term and I think I am only just catching up. With so much going on I hope I can remember it all.

The Year 6's created disaster packs last week and the information about them can be found here:
http://seniorunit.blogspot.com.au/p/emegency-survival-packs.html

The Year 7's continue with preparing for Exhibition and with it being a week and a half away the Year 7's won't have spelling homework for the next 2 weeks.

The Dance team is in full swing and practice is on Monday at lunchtime in the Hub.

Bike Ed has been a success so far. Cow Corner is smelling more like a bike shop than a work area but storage has provided for more opportunities during bike sessions. For information on what the children have been doing check out our Bike Ed page.

Faith Challenge practice has taken off with the event fast approaching on November 15

This Friday is the Amazing Me night at the school. It is a couple of sessions looking at ourselves and human development. We encourage you to come along and join in an informative night.

This week is Miss Butter's last week in the Senior Unit and we wish her all the best.

I will leave it at that for now. Check back for further updates.

Exhibition

This term sees the Exhibition move into full gear. The Year 7's are busily working on their topics and getting themselves organised.

To start Exhibition the children had to create their own Central Idea and Lines of Inquiry. These are essential to knowing what to do and find out.

We thought it would be great to share these with everybody.

Welcome to Term 4

Welcome back to all for Term 4
The term has started off with a bang and things are moving rapidly. There is news to share.

First of all congratulations go out to Mr H and his wife on the birth of their son. Aidan Dwayne was born on Saturday. I am sure the proud Dad will be in some time to share his joy. Following on from this Mr H has 3 weeks off to spend time with his new family and coming to fill the void is Miss Alice Butter. Miss Butter will be taking the class for this time and she is a welcome addition to the Senior Unit.

Things that are happening:
-Dance group starts week 2 in the Hub at Lunch on Tuesday. From then it will be Monday Lunch in the Hub.
- Bike Ed on Tuesdays
- Year 7's are working on Exhibition
- Year 6's are working on Disasters

Keep checking back for more info as this week goes on.

Bike Ed

Bike Ed starts this week. Through newsletters last term we communicated about children who would be able to bring bikes along. Storage of the bikes is possible. The children will need to bring helmets too if they have them. It will be a great experience over the next 7 weeks to increase our bike safety. Parents who said they were able to help out will be contacted by the end of next week.
